SummaryEdit

Method 4 Word Clearing (often abbreviated as Method 4, WCM4 or simply M4) is metered word clearing used when an Intern, Auditor or Student is thought to have a CONFUSED IDEA. It is used by Cramming Officers, Word Clearers and Course Supervisors when fishing for a misunderstood word in an area of study or activity. The person being word cleared is generally one that has been given a Cramming Order or who is not F/Ning on course. M4 is also used to handle ALL student queries regarding the contents of course materials.

Method 4 requires no C/S okay. Method 1 is not a required prerequisite.

E-Meter Drill 21 is used for training Method 4 to fish for a cognition.

Care must be taken when fishing for the MU not to use too wide an area as too general a question can restimulate a person badly. For instance do not ask, "IN COLLEGE, is there anything you didn't understand" This question is too broad.

Materials being word cleared must be broken down into logical sections and need to actually be at hand during the M4. Books, for instance, are broken down chapter by chapter. Using Student notes to guide M4 is forbidden.

Consistent, successful M4 is critical to success in cramming and in course supervision.
